RE-OPENING PROTOCOLS
LEMNOS FIELD HOCKEY STADIUM
EFFECTIVE 6 JUNE 2020
Version 4 updated 5/6/2020

HockeyWA have issued advice and recommended practices for Community Hockey to be able to
recommence with training sessions effective 6/6/2020 and games effective 26/6/2020. These have been
incorporated and updated below with our procedures to support a safe start back to hockey for our clubs.
Our strategy is to maintain and provide a safe environment for all our players, coaches, officials and staff
alike.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITY (ALL ATTENDEES)
GENERAL
Respect all health department advice for protecting yourself and others specifically:
Practice good hygiene – hand washing, cough & sneeze etiquette
Practice physical / social distancing
Understand the symptoms of COVID-19 and know when to stay at home or seek medical
advice
• Any member with flu-like symptoms should self-exclude from attending the turf. At the first sign of the
symptoms please seek medical advice
• If you fit into any of the ‘at risk’ categories of being susceptible to infection please seek medical advice
prior to attending
• Should you be confirmed as being a ‘contact’ or ‘infected’ at any point in the future please advise your
Club and the Turf Manager (manager@shentonhockey.com.au) as soon as possible. Dates of
attendance are important to allow us to track and inform any other attendees at those times
PRIOR TO ENTRY TO LEMNOS FIELD (Players & Coaches)
• DO NOT come to Lemnos turf if you are feeling unwell
• Coaches are required to lodge an accurate attendance record with the Turf. This can be achieved by
using the existing Attendance Form or emailing the Turf (manager@shentonhockey.com.au) by 9.00
a.m. the following morning. The form will only be used if Contact tracing is required
• The Attendance Form needs to be completed for EVERY TRAINING SESSION
• As our season start overlaps with Phase3 easing of restrictions, attendance records for players
participating in games will also need to be provided. A copy of the team list for the day must be lodged
with the Turf prior to your departure. Copying facility is available for this.
• NO SPECTATORS – At this time the facility is limited to 100 patrons, therefore no spectators are
permitted to attend training sessions or games. This is expected to be relaxed shortly and we will
advise as soon as this occurs
• NO FOOD – No food will be permitted for consumption at the Turf
• CHANGEROOMS & TOILETS – these facilities will be open. We are required to meet the 2sqm rule for
the indoor areas so team meetings must be conducted outdoors for the time being. Adhere to the
number of persons allowed in changing rooms which will be indicated on a sign on the doors.
• DUGOUTS & WATER POINTS – these are now permitted to be open
• BAR / CANTEEN – we will be opening these as soon as practicable. Numbers of patrons permitted in
the bar areas will be reduced and all attendees must be seated. The new measures require some rework of these areas. Clubs will be advised as soon as we able to commence these operations.

IMMEDIATELY BEFORE PLAYING (ALL ATTENDEES)
• All players and coaches should sanitise prior to and after games/sessions. Hand sanitising stations will
be available at the entrance and around the stadium
• Water bottles – please leave these in the area with your bag. Make sure your water bottle is labelled.
Water bottles are strictly single person use. Avoid use of communal water.
• Mouth guard – must be kept in your mouth or on your person AT ALL TIMES. DO NOT leave them on
the ground or where it may come into contact with other players equipment or area they may touch
• First Aid & Injuries – as in line with normal procedures disposable gloves should be worn when
attending to players with injuries – especially against blood exposure but also to prevent contact with
mouth-guards

END OF TRAINING (ALL PLAYERS)
• At the end of the training session all players must leave the turf and the facility promptly
• Remember to sanitise your hands on departure

OUR ROLE & RESPONSIBLITY (Lemnos Field)
• Following Department of Health and Public Health standards and policies and COVID-19 guidance
• Having an up to date Covid19 Safety Plan
• Signage to inform of number of persons allowed in each area at any one time i.e. changerooms
• Keeping up to date so we can ‘adjust’ and ‘flex’ to provide you with the safest possible environment
• Providing a single set of current procedures to follow
• Additional cleaning, sanitising and waste management
• Reduction of services until it is deemed safe to recommence
